Project Momentum, an initiative of the Southeast Service Cooperative, provides high-quality professional learning for educators to support multilingual learners. Our team includes experienced classroom teachers, teacher educators, researchers, and program specialists who share a belief that multilingualism is an asset and that every educator can learn to serve multilingual learners well.

We regularly engage talented professionals in the following roles. Even when we are not actively hiring, we welcome introductions from people whose expertise aligns with our mission.

  • Our courses are built to be rigorous, relevant, and immediately applicable in multilingual learner classrooms. We periodically engage experienced educators and subject matter experts to develop new course content, review and update existing materials, and ensure our curriculum reflects current research and best practice. Course designers typically bring deep expertise in ESL, bilingual education, or a related content area, along with experience translating professional knowledge into engaging online learning experiences. Reviewers may include classroom practitioners, teacher educators, researchers, or community voices whose perspective helps us ensure our content is accurate, culturally responsive, and aligned with the needs of diverse educator audiences. These are project-based, contracted roles with timelines and scope that vary by initiative.

  • Our teacher educators facilitate licensure coursework for educators in Minnesota. We look for experienced practitioners with deep knowledge of multilingual learner education, strong instructional skills in online settings, and a commitment to research-based, practical professional learning. Many of our teacher educators hold advanced degrees and ESL/bilingual licensure, and most work with us on a contract or adjunct basis, which offers meaningful flexibility for working professionals.

    All teacher educators must hold a master's degree or higher in a related field and demonstrate subject expertise through one of the following: 18 graduate credits aligned to the content area of instruction, a dissertation or published research in the position's area of instruction, or completion of a state-approved teacher preparation program aligned to the position's content area. In addition, all teacher educators must have three or more years of experience as a teacher of record, including at least one year aligned to the scope and content area of the position.

    Teacher educators facilitating reading methods courses must also demonstrate specialized knowledge in the research and teaching of reading through graduate coursework in reading foundations and pedagogy and must have at least three years of experience teaching developing readers. Those facilitating middle and secondary preparation courses must also have experience teaching reading in the content areas.

  • Practicum supervisors play a vital role in our K-12 ESL Additional Licensure program, observing and coaching licensure candidates during their field experiences. We seek licensed Minnesota ESL educators and leaders with classroom and mentoring experience who can provide candidates with constructive, growth-oriented feedback. Supervision is a part-time, stipended role that pairs well with current or recently retired educators' schedules.

    We require that practicum supervisors hold a master's degree or higher in a related field, along with one of the following: three or more years of experience as a professionally licensed teacher of record in a licensure area aligned to the position's scope, or experience in teacher evaluation as a current or former K-12 administrator.
